In January 2024, ADEA staff volunteers participated in the ADEA Community Volunteer Day at the Capital Area Food Bank.

The ADEA Staff volunteers sorted through and packed 476 food boxes for distribution to local area seniors. Food donations come to the food bank’s 123,000 square-foot distribution center, where its staff and 20,000+ annual volunteers prepare items for distribution to families and seniors.

The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank is to help its neighbors thrive by creating more equitable access to food and opportunity through community partnerships. The food bank envisions a community in which everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food. With the support of the community and partners, more than 50 million meals are provided to almost half a million area residents annually. The Capital Area Food Bank’s partners, contributors and volunteers make it possible to bring nourishment and hope to those people struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

Thank you to the ADEA staff volunteers for making a difference!
