Patrick M. Lloyd, D.D.S., M.S., intends to step down as the leader of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry (OSU COD) at the end of his term in August 2021. A committee will be appointed in the coming weeks to conduct a nationwide search for OSU COD’s next dean.
Dr. Lloyd joined OSU COD after serving for seven years as Dean of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. As a health science dean at OSU, his leadership has strengthened the college’s already impressive academic and clinical credentials.
OSU COD will open the $95 million expansion and renovation of Postle Hall next year, which will allow it to serve more students and patients in new academic and clinical spaces. Among his other accomplishments, Dr. Lloyd led the development of a new strategic plan; provided support that helped double research funding to $6.4 million; enhanced partnerships in education, patient care and research with the Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital; and expanded the college’s outreach to serve dental patients in Columbus and throughout Ohio.
