On Saturday, April 17, the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona (CDMA) opened the doors of the Midwestern University Dental Institute in Glendale, AZ, to provide free dental care and consultations to Arizona military veterans.
The Veterans’ Dental Day is an annual event held by CDMA. Introduced in spring 2019, the event aims to foster community engagement, provide important experiential training for CDMA clinical students, and provide services for veterans who are unable to afford care.
Faculty and students from the CDMA provided more than $30,000 worth of free screenings and treatments, including dental examinations, routine cleanings, sealants, fillings, extractions, consultations about dental implants or dentures and recommendations for follow-up care to over 200 veterans.
