About my personal journey: I was a non-traditional applicant who applied to dental school two years after graduating college at the start of the pandemic. The challenge of having to retake classes to improve my GPA and stay committed to the process of applying to dental school during the height of COVID prepared me in so many ways for my first year of dental school that I couldn’t have imagined.
Why I chose my dental school: Howard University was always my top choice; I never wanted to go anywhere else. It was meaningful to me to be trained and mentored by people who looked like me and to care for people who looked like me, and to be a part of a historic institution that created so many amazing dentists.
