ADEA Virtual Events Code of Conduct
ADEA is committed to providing a safe, productive and welcoming environment in our virtual events for all participants and ADEA staff. All participants, including—but not limited to—attendees, speakers, exhibitors, ADEA staff members, service providers and all others are expected to be familiar with and abide by this Virtual Events Code of Conduct.
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to participate, ask questions and engage in conversation. This requires a harassment-free and inclusive environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every participant. We invite all those who participate to help us create a safe and positive experience for everyone. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at any time prior to, during or after an event.
Unacceptable behavior is defined as:
- Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form;
- Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, exhibitor, ADEA staff member, service provider or other guest; or
- Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments or visual images related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or other personal characteristics, including those protected by law.
In addition, participants are asked to adhere to the following:
- Presentations, postings and messages should not contain any solicitations, such as promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements or solicitation for services. ADEA reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations.
- Disruption in the exhibit hall or during presentations is strictly prohibited. All participants must comply with the instructions of ADEA virtual event staff at all times.
Participants should not copy or take screenshots of any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space.
ADEA reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal of a participant from the event without warning, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior. ADEA also reserves the right to prohibit a participant’s attendance at any future event.
