Academic Preparations
Traditionally, dental schools expect applicants to have completed two semesters (three quarters) of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics—all with lab. Dental schools differ in terms of what additional classes are required, so encourage students to thoroughly research each school where they are interested in applying for any additional prerequisites.
The ADEA AADSAS Participating Dental Schools Required and Recommended Courses is a new resource that can help health professions advisors easily access required and recommended coursework for prospective dental school applicants.
