What should participants expect?

The interactive program involves self- and peer-assessment exercises as well as readings to be completed prior to attending. Case studies augment some topics.

Participants should expect an intense schedule with assignments to be completed in some of the evenings.

How are participants selected to attend?
Participants have to apply to be selected.

In addition, they have at least two years of experience in academia, are individual members of ADEA, are nominated by an allied dental program director or dean and must complete a nomination package by the deadline.

The application deadline is Monday, March 17, 2025.

How do participants register for the program?
Participants will receive a link to register online in April 2025. Registration is required for attendance.
What is the cost to attend, and how do participants register?
Only selected candidates can register for the meeting. Individual ADEA membership is required.

The online registration will occur in April 2025.  Registration includes all materials, hosted meals, refreshment breaks, team-building activities and receptions. Lodging and travel costs are at the registrant’s expense.


Note: The 2025 ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program is a highly interactive experience, and participants are expected to attend all meals, receptions and team-building activities. You are encouraged to spend your limited “free time” with your peer groups and prepare for the next day’s activities. The program does not allow you to bring guests or family members to meals or offsite events.

What is the registration cancellation and refunds policy?

To receive a refund for your conference registration, you must submit a written cancellation no later than Wednesday, May 15, to meetings@adea.org. ADEA will issue a refund—minus an individual $30 processing fee—after the meeting’s conclusion.

Cancellation requests received after May 15 are not eligible for refund or credit. Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure.

How do participant make a hotel reservation?

Which airport is closest to the conference site?
The closest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
What is the dress code for the meeting?
Attire for the meeting is business casual. Please dress in layers as temperatures in meeting rooms may vary.
Can the participant bring family or a guest?

The 2025 ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program is a highly interactive experience, and participants are expected to attend all meals, receptions and team-building activities.

You are encouraged to spend your limited “free time” with your peer groups and prepare for the following day’s activities. The program does not allow you to bring guests or family members to meals or off-site events.

If I have a child under the age of 18 with me, what must I know?
ADEA does not allow children under age 18 to attend any conference functions or programming. If children accompany a participant to the conference, arrangements should be made for their supervision. 
Where can I find conference presentations? 
All program presentations will be provided to participants once they are on site.
Will Continuing Education (CE) credits be provided for this event?
Yes. An email with instructions on how to obtain CE credits will be sent to all attendees after the conference.
