University of Hawai’i Nursing and Dental Hygiene Programs Respond to State Oral Health Needs

In 2016, the Hawai’i State Department of Health released a child oral health surveillance report, Hawai’i Smiles. The survey showed that many children in Hawaii do not access preventive measures to improve their oral health. The University of Hawai'i at Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene has committed to bridging the gap via education and practice initiatives.
