ADEA CAAPID Application Information
Prepare to Apply
Whether the application is weeks or months away from opening, start preparing now.
Here are things that can be done in advance to ensure the application process is seamless:
- Research programs
Check out the ADEA CAAPID Program Finder for information on all participating programs. The profile will indicate the application deadline for all programs. - Collect materials
Know where to go to request transcripts from all colleges and dental schools attended. Speak with professors and mentors to determine who will write letters of evaluation. Develop a CV or resume with all activities and accomplishments. Write a personal statement about why this degree and field is the goal. Print out score sheets from all standardized tests taken. - Review the application
Look over the application instructions and required documents. Make yourself familiar with the ADEA CAAPID Checklist. - Take entrance exams
Refer to the program directory which includes information on which additional exams are accepted and which are preferred for each program.
Are You an International Applicant?
Determine which application service is right for you by answering a few simple questions:
- Have you completed a dental degree program outside the United States or Canada?
- No ☛ Apply for a traditional D.D.S. or D.M.D. program via ADEA AADSAS.
- Yes ☛ Go to the next question.
- Do you wish to practice dentistry in the United States after completion of your education in this country?
- No ☛ Apply for a dental residency in a specialty area via ADEA PASS.
- Yes ☛ Apply for an advanced standing program via ADEA CAAPID.

- The 2025-26 application fees are $264 for the first program an applicant applies to and $115 for each additional program.
- All participating programs have a profile on the ADEA CAAPID Program Finder. Browse by state. The profiles include contact information, program requirements, and a description of the program.
- To find out more about becoming licensed in the U.S. and Canada, visit ADEA GoDental.
- DENTPIN® : A personal identification number used in place of the social security number. Every applicant must retrieve a DENTPIN to initiate an ADEA CAAPID application.

ADEA CAAPID is the centralized application service for international applicants who have previously completed a dental education program outside the United States or Canada who wish to practice dentistry in the United States.
