Zhiyuan (Mark) Yang

Zhiyuan (Mark) Yang is a first-year dental student at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, pursuing a dual D.D.S./Ph.D. track with a strong interest in academia. His current research interests focus on temporomandibular joint kinematics, and he is passionate about exploring innovative approaches in clinical diagnostics with the goal of integrating scientific research with patient care to advance the field of dentistry.

Why I think I will be a good dentist: I believe I’ll be a great dentist because of my communication skills, empathy and dedication to person-centered care. My background in research and teaching also equips me to educate patients and stay at the forefront of advancements in dentistry.
