Although we share similar goals as pre dental students, we come from diverse backgrounds & a variety of interests. As a current public health student at UNC, let me tell you why it should be an integral part of every current and future dentist’s career.
Dental Public Health
If you are someone who wants to make a difference in the place you live or dreams about helping to change health care on a community, state or national level, you may find the perfect profession in dental public health. Dental public health professionals develop policies and programs, such as health care reform, that affect the community at large.
A career in dental public health requires advanced education, ranging from certificate programs to master’s and doctoral programs. While the amount of time varies widely depending on the educational option you choose, the average program length is 14 months.
Currently, you can choose from 15 programs in the United States.
