Bulletin of Dental Education Article

In October 2024, during National Dental Hygiene Month, Prof. Twyla Rader, M.Ed., B.S., LDH, from Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) Dental Hygiene Program, presented a lecture on the current status of dental hygiene education in the state of Indiana. 

Prof. Rader discussed possible causes of the dental hygiene shortage, proactive steps IUSD is taking to address said causes and recommendations for private dental practices to retain dental hygienists.

Prof. Rader is Clinical Associate Professor and Dental Hygiene Program Director at IUSD Indianapolis. She is also a member of the Indiana State Board of Dentistry.
