ADEA Humanistic Initiatives
The ADEA Tapestry Table® (Tapestry Table) is an educational series that uses a variety of platforms and media to explore diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) topics impacting dental education and the health professions. Tapestry Table welcomes a variety of guests, clinicians, experts and individuals from all walks of life to share their dynamic perspectives and nurture and prepare the dental education community to better lead in a rapidly changing, cross-culturally interconnected world.
Whether it is through a Tapestry Table work, panel, vlog, panel, symposium or other content delivery system, ADEA creates welcoming, safe spaces for individual and community self-reflection and robust dialogue related to justice, cultural competence, gender equity, discrimination, implicit bias, health disparities, inclusive leadership and other DEI topics.
As ADEA is The Voice of Dental Education, Tapestry Table is an important tool for illuminating and capturing the rich cultural and intellectual transactions that occur at the intersection of many perspectives for the shared purpose of creating a more equitable, diverse, humanistic and inclusive dental education environment and global society.
