Alfred Li, University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2022, ADEA Chapter President

Alfred LiHistory with ADEA
As a first-year, Mr. Li discovered that ADEA’s mission and vision closely aligned with his goals as a dental student. He became involved in Colorado’s ADEA Chapter as a class liaison and through that role, he helped coordinate review sessions, mock exams and boards preparation sessions. Inspired by the kind and motivated individuals on the leadership team, Mr. Li decided to contribute to the growth of the young Colorado chapter. This year, he serves as the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (CU SDM) ADEA Chapter President.

Interest in Dental Education
Having been a tutor and mentor in the past, Mr. Li finds teaching in any capacity a rewarding activity. With the ADEA-led peer tutoring program at CU SDM, Mr. Li enjoyed tutoring first-year students in microanatomy, immunology and fixed prosthodontics lab. In doing so, he not only solidifies his own understanding and skills, but also serves the future of the dental profession.

Hobbies
Attending dental school amongst the beauty and nature of Colorado allows Mr. Li to pursue his outdoor passions during his free time. He enjoys hiking, camping, running and snowboarding. His mentoring nature carries over into his hobbies as he shares these outdoor passions with many of his classmates. With the stresses brought on by dental school and the COVID-19 pandemic, he appreciates these public open spaces that have remained available for him and his classmates to enjoy during this time.
