2025 ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program (ADEA ADFLDP)
The ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program (ADEA ADFLDP) is ADEA’s premier leadership program designed to inspire and develop future allied dental education leaders. The only program of its kind, ADEA ADFLDP provides leadership development from an allied dental perspective for mid-career faculty and program directors.
Through four days of self- and peer-assessment, self-reflection and mentoring in a supportive and empowering environment, program participants gain the skills and insights to tackle the complexities of leading in an allied dental setting. ADEA ADFLDP has been praised by attendees as transformative, citing rapid personal and professional growth, self-renewal, increased confidence and connectedness―plus an outstanding network of colleagues that extends far beyond the four days of programming.

2025 ADEA ADFLDP: Leadership Development Through Self-reflection and Inspiration
The ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program is designed for faculty and program directors in dental assisting, dental hygiene, dental laboratory technology and dental therapy programs with the potential to make significant contributions to allied dental education. The program provides participants with a unique opportunity to assess their current leadership skills and build on them while developing relationships with a small group of participants facilitated by an advisor.
This empowering program creates an outstanding network of colleagues.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Develop and assess leadership competencies to prepare for leadership opportunities in allied dental education.
- Implement vision and values in relationship to long- and short-term goals.
- Examine legal and ethical issues surrounding faculty and staff issues and student rights and protections, including the use of artificial intelligence and use of artificial intelligence.
- Analyze various individual assessment tools to develop personal leadership styles.
- Develop additional skills in work-life integration, wellness and resiliency, and trauma- informed leadership.
- Analyze leadership roles when relating to diversity and equity issues.
- Discuss the importance of mentoring and professional networks.
How to Attend
Participants have to apply to be selected.
In addition, they have at least two years of experience in academia, are individual members of ADEA, are nominated by an allied dental program director or dean and must complete a nomination package by the deadline.

Registration Information
Only selected candidates can register for the meeting. Individual ADEA membership is required.
Participants will receive a link to register online in April 2025. The registration fee is $900
The online registration will occur in April 2025. Registration includes all materials, hosted meals, refreshment breaks, team-building activities and receptions. Lodging and travel costs are at the registrant’s expense.
NOTE: The 2025 ADEA Allied Dental Faculty Leadership Development Program is a highly interactive experience, and participants are expected to attend all meals, receptions and team-building activities. You are encouraged to spend your limited “free time” with your peer groups and preparing for the next day’s activities. The program does not allow you to bring guests or family members to meals or offsite events.
Cancellation and Refunds
To receive a refund for your conference registration, you must submit a written cancellation no later than Wednesday, May 15, to Shalonda King at meetings@adea.org. ADEA will issue a refund—minus an individual $30 processing fee—after the meeting’s conclusion.
Cancellation requests received after May 15 are not eligible for refund or credit. Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure.

Participants will complete two assessments prior to the program—Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Leadership Circle Profile (LCP)—which tap into key aspects of an individual’s personality and preferences, as well as proven leadership competencies in areas such as strategy, communication, decision-making and interpersonal relations. Standard Single/ Double: $259 (until July 10)
- All rates are per room, per night and are subject to a 15.95% room tax.
- Hotel room reservations can be made online or by calling (202) 628-4663.
- The deadline to make hotel reservations at the group rate is Thursday, July 10, 2025, or when the group rate rooms sell out—whichever occurs first. After July 7, reservations at the group rate will be accepted only on a space-available basis. The room block may fill before July 7, so we encourage you to make reservations early.
- You are responsible for making your hotel arrangements directly with the property. The meeting registration does not include hotel arrangements, flight, ground transportation or any incidentals related to traveling to the meeting.
Parking
The hotel offers off-site valet parking only via a third party. The charge for valet parking is $60 per day, including in-and-out privileges. Each charge includes tax; gratuities are up to the individual.
Check-in/check-out Time
Hotel check-in time is 3:00 p.m. or earlier as rooms become available. Check-out time is noon.
Cancellations
Reservations may be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to your reserved arrival date at no charge. For cancellations made after the time noted, the hotel will retain the room deposit of one night plus applicable taxes.
