The election took place during the 2023 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, March 11-14, in Portland, OR.
With her election, Susan H. Kass, M.Ed., Ed.D., RDH, completes the roster of the 2023-24 ADEA Principal Officers on the ADEA Board of Directors, which includes Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors Ana N. López-Fuentes, D.M.D., M.P.H., Professor and Former Dean of the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, and Immediate Past Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors Nader Nadershahi, D.D.S., M.B.A., Ed.D., Dean of the University of Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
In her candidate statement, Dr. Kass noted she is committed to working with ADEA leadership, committees and members to infuse diversity and moral perspective into dental education moving forward. “One of ADEA’s greatest assets is the talent and human resources of our members, who bring innovation and change to our profession,” she said.
Additionally, ADEA extends its appreciation to Jeffery Hicks, D.D.S., who also ran for the position of Chair-elect. Dr. Hicks is Professor of Comprehensive Dentistry at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
