- Grant Assists Eastern Washington University Clinic With Advanced Periodontal Care

Eastern Washington University (EWU) received a $21,000 grant from MultiCare’s Community Partnership Fund to support its nonprofit dental clinic, a leader in serving the underserved in Spokane County. This grant will allow EWU to purchase two Biolase diode lasers and provide training to all full-time faculty members on how to use the laser.
These new tools will assist the clinic in providing advanced periodontal therapy for patients in local underserved communities. To have access to advanced therapies helps bring equity to local patients who often come from the most vulnerable populations. This generous grant will also help students gain advanced skills to provide care after they graduate. The lasers will be delivered in January 2023 and training will begin soon after.
