ADEA recently released the annual report U.S. Dental School Applicants and Enrollees, 2020 Entering Class. The
data report provides a comprehensive view of the applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees of the 2020 entering class in predoctoral dental programs. The report analyzes data from the ADEA Associated American Dental Schools Application System (ADEA AADSAS®) and Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Services (TMDSAS).
The demographic and educational characteristics of applicants and enrollees to U.S. dental schools in 2020 have been published in a series of
interactive graphics in addition to the routinely published spreadsheet-style report. Users can access trend data for applicants, first-time, first-year enrollees for a 20-year period: 2000-2020. Demographic information, both for gender and race/ethnicity, is available for 2020 and the 20-year period analyzed. ADEA members and others interested in information about predoctoral applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees can browse a map with the state of legal residence at time of application for the applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees for the 2020 entering class.
