ADEA Releases New Data on 2020 U.S. Dental School Applicants and Enrollees

ADEA recently released the annual report U.S. Dental School Applicants and Enrollees, 2020 Entering Class. The data report provides a comprehensive view of the applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees of the 2020 entering class in predoctoral dental programs. The report analyzes data from the ADEA Associated American Dental Schools Application System (ADEA AADSAS®) and Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Services (TMDSAS).

The demographic and educational characteristics of applicants and enrollees to U.S. dental schools in 2020 have been published in a series of interactive graphics in addition to the routinely published spreadsheet-style report. Users can access trend data for applicants, first-time, first-year enrollees for a 20-year period: 2000-2020. Demographic information, both for gender and race/ethnicity, is available for 2020 and the 20-year period analyzed. ADEA members and others interested in information about predoctoral applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees can browse a map with the state of legal residence at time of application for the applicants and first-time, first-year enrollees for the 2020 entering class.
