Report of the Task Force on Assessment of Readiness for Practice
The Report of the Task Force on Assessment of Readiness for Practice (Sept. 2018) is an important call-to-action that tackles issues of significant importance to the dental profession and the public it serves. Co-authored by a joint task force of the American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association and American Student Dental Association, this important report calls upon states to eliminate the use of single encounter, procedure-based examinations on patients as part of the licensure examination and remove restrictions on portability of dental licensure. This seminal report describes the reasons that change is needed in licensure and sets a pathway forward.
